The action of the play “PINOK.IO” takes place in the near future. The titular Pinok.io is not a wooden puppet but the first artificial intelligence to gain consciousness. From Geppetto, his creator, he receives a robot body, which allows him to explore the world and embark on adventures. The dream of our hero is no longer to become a human boy, but to understand who he truly is and how he should function in a world of humans and machines.
The play addresses, in a way that is engaging and understandable for children, topics such as the development of artificial intelligence, the fight for equality, and the creation of responsible technologies. The creators’ intention is to raise awareness of the dangers of the cyber world and to encourage questions about the direction in which humanity wants to move.
