Kajtek is a very restless boy. In the schoolyard and at school he is known for making life difficult for others - constantly joking, making bets with his friends, and getting into mischief enough for three, which more than once causes trouble for his caregivers. No matter how hard he tries, he simply can’t sit still. Only his grandmother knows how to reach him, telling him extraordinary, mysterious stories. These tales spark his imagination so strongly that he begins to dream of becoming a wizard. His unshakable belief transports him into a completely different, magical world in which Kajtek fully immerses himself. However, the death of a loved one causes the innocent, playful spells to turn dangerous, and his magic becomes destructive. Will he be able to regain his balance?
What incredible adventures and places will his wizardly power lead him to? Find out for yourselves!
"Kajtuś the Wizard" is a road fairy tale in which the hero matures and builds his identity.
It is also a story about how important it is to maintain a balance between imagination, reality, and responsibility. The creators also ask a question about the magic present in each of our lives — magic we often fail to notice in our everyday routines.
The performance is a record of a journey deep into a child’s imagination, where - like in a fantasy film - different worlds and orders intertwine. Emphasized in the visual layer, the motif of travel leads the audience straight into the heart of a great adventure.
