Guardians of the Gods

A performance for children and the adults close to them, marking the culmination of an international project devoted to contemporary childhood, led by the Swedish theatre Unga Klara in collaboration with artistic teams from five continents. Erik Uddenberg’s original play, translated into Polish by Dominika Górecka, was based on interviews with children from different parts of the world, who shared their perspectives on what it means to be a child in a world constructed by adults.

The several-month-long creative process resulted in an intimate performance directed by Gustav Deinoff. Different language versions of the production, featuring different casts, will be presented in more than a dozen countries. Two organisations are involved in the Polish premiere: the Polish ASSITEJ Centre and Analog Collective. The Warsaw premiere is co-produced by the KORCZAK TODAY Festival.

The performance is intended for children and young people aged 9–12, as well as adults.
